The GOSL aims to achieve honourable peace - President Rajapakse

President Mahinda Rajapakse has apprised the President of Iran, Mohamed Ahamud Najath that the Sri Lanka government is working towards finding a honourable peace for all Sri Lankan communities.

 

President Mahinda Rajapakse explained about the current political situation and the undemocratic acts perceived by the terrorists. He told about child recruitment and terrorist attacks and the obstacles thereby caused to development activities.

 

The Iranian President responded by to saying that measures are being taken to consolidate the bilateral relationship between the two countries and Iran would provide the necessary backing to projects taken forward by President Mahinda Rajapakse in the development of the country.
